Plant Engineering Manager
The Plant Engineering Manager is a key technical leader responsible for driving reliability, efficiency, and innovation within a fast‑paced manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role shapes the plant's engineering and maintenance strategy, leads major capital initiatives, and develops a high‑performing technical organization focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads the development and execution of plant engineering, maintenance, and reliability strategies.
- Drives capital planning and project execution while partnering across Safety, Quality, Environmental, Operations, Finance, and other functions.
- Partners with corporate and platform engineering teams to source project managers, SMEs, and startup leaders.
- Implements vertical startup practices and low‑loss production systems; resolves technical challenges and recommends improvements.
- Supports internal systems audits and leads elements of Early Management and related performance pillars.
- Leads or participates in teams focused on improving safety, quality, utilization, sanitation, cost structure, and customer service.
- Ensures effective communication and resource alignment across departments to maximize plant efficiency.
- Oversees plant utilities, ensuring compliance and performance for systems such as refrigeration, ammonia, nitrogen, steam, natural gas, and compressed air.
- Provides direction to maintenance teams, coordinating mechanical and administrative activities.
- Facilitates plant meetings and encourages strong collaboration between Maintenance, Quality, Production, and Warehouse teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in food or relevant manufacturing.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and influence across departments.
- Willingness to work alternate shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $107,000-$156,000, depending on experience, skill level, and geographic factors.
