Senior Manager, Contracts - Gas
We are supporting a privately held energy infrastructure owner and developer on their search for a Senior Manager, Contracts. This role sits within the Supply Chain organization and plays a critical owner‑side role in driving contractual strategy and execution for large‑scale, capital‑intensive power generation projects, including combined cycle and thermal generation assets. The Senior Manager will lead the development, negotiation, and administration of EPC, design‑build, and major procurement agreements, supporting projects from RFP through construction and close‑out, with a strong focus on optimizing risk allocation, schedule certainty, compliance, and cost outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation, issuance, and full‑cycle management of RFPs for EPC, design‑build, professional services, OFCI equipment, and major supply agreements
- Negotiate and execute complex owner‑side contracts, including EPC, design‑build, and long‑lead equipment procurement agreements, ensuring alignment with commercial, schedule, and risk objectives
- Develop, standardize, and continuously improve contract templates, commercial terms, and negotiation playbooks tailored to large‑scale power generation project delivery
- Partner cross‑functionally with legal, procurement, engineering, project management, and finance teams to ensure contractual compliance, scope clarity, and coordinated execution
- Support project teams with change orders, claims, extensions of time, close‑outs, and dispute resolution to minimize commercial exposure and maintain project momentum
- Oversee vendor prequalification, contractor selection, and bid evaluation processes for EPC contractors and major equipment suppliers
- Track contract obligations, deliverables, notice provisions, and key milestones to ensure adherence to owner standards and project requirements
- Provide regular reporting to leadership on contract performance, commercial risk exposure, and project commitments across active capital projects
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, law, or a related field; advanced degree (Master's or JD) preferred
- 5+ years of contract management experience supporting large‑scale power generation or energy infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated success negotiating and administering EPC, design‑build, and procurement contracts within capital‑intensive environments
- Strong understanding of EPC contract structures, construction law, commercial risk allocation, and claims/dispute management
- Experience supporting projects across the full lifecycle from RFP through construction and close‑out
- Proficiency with contract management and document control systems (e.g., Procore, MS Office, Adobe)
