Senior Quality Engineer
A manufacturing organization in the advanced materials and industrial equipment sector is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to oversee quality control, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is crucial to ensuring that products meet stringent industry standards and that internal processes align with established quality management requirements.
The Senior Quality Engineer will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and production teams to uphold quality standards, maintain documentation, conduct inspections, and lead efforts to improve processes across the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure product quality by enforcing standard operating procedures and quality standards across all production areas.
- Manage departmental performance measures, visual controls, and provide routine progress updates to leadership.
- Maintain and update quality manuals, procedures, and related documentation.
- Oversee company-wide compliance with applicable engineering codes and regulatory quality requirements, including documentation control.
- Support vendor evaluation and monitoring to ensure material and documentation compliance.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and internal reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as needed in support of the quality program.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in manufacturing and quality control.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience working in environments requiring strict quality documentation and compliance (e.g., pressure-rated products, regulated manufacturing, or mechanical/industrial components).
- Proven ability to maintain and improve product quality standards.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and process‑improvement skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, and related tools.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally when needed.
