Position Overview

The Senior Business Planner supports financial planning for key retail accounts and collaborates with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and retail Buying and Planning teams. This role involves reporting on sales, margin, and inventory plans, and partnering with senior planners to optimize performance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with planners and account executives to set and achieve sales, margin, and inventory goals.
  • Monitor weekly sales reports and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Analyze business performance using tools such as store data, climate trends, and volume overlays.
  • Develop solutions to enhance internal sales and manage inventory sell-off.
  • Share insights with design and merchandising teams to inform future seasonal strategies.
  • Maintain regular communication with account executives to address issues and identify opportunities.
  • Forecast style demand and inventory needs using historical data and statistical models.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and support management with special projects.
  • Create assortment recommendations in partnership with Demand Planning and Sales.
  • Manage inventory levels to align with weeks of supply (WOS) targets.
  • Participate in pre-season planning for replenishment, key items, and assortments.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of planning experience.
  • Strong understanding of retail math and proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial analysis and business information systems.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Anaplan and Business Objects.
  • Background in department store planning.
