Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our procurement team. This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that drive cost savings, supplier performance, and supply chain efficiency for our construction materials operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in sourcing raw materials, equipment, and services within the construction or building materials industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to support business objectives and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage a diverse supplier base to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
  • Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead RFQ/RFP processes, contract negotiations, and supplier performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including operations, logistics, and finance to align sourcing strategies with project needs.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in construction materials or industrial sectors.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in sourcing tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with commodities such as cement, aggregates, steel, or other construction materials.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and responsible sourcing practices.
  • Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, PMP).
