APAC Head of Supply Chain, Malaysia Base
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Supply Chain Leadership
- Lead and oversee supply chain functions across APAC markets, including Australia, China, and SEA.
- Develop and execute regional supply chain strategies to support business growth and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement, cost optimization, and supply chain resilience.
- Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
- Build and manage regional procurement strategies covering direct and indirect materials.
- Develop supplier networks in APAC, ensuring quality, reliability, and competitive cost.
- Negotiate high‑value contracts and long‑term supply agreements with key vendors.
- Logistics & Distribution Management
- Oversee regional logistics planning, warehouse operations, and transportation networks.
- Ensure efficient cross-border movement of goods, import/export compliance, and inventory optimization.
- Implement best‑in‑class logistics performance to support manufacturing and customer needs.
- Greenfield Factory Setup (Malaysia)
- Lead end-to-end supply chain setup for a new manufacturing facility in Malaysia.
- Define supply chain roadmaps, processes, and operating procedures for the new site.
- Partner with engineering, operations, HR, and project management teams to ensure smooth plant commissioning.
- Establish procurement, inbound/outbound logistics, material planning, and supplier onboarding for the new plant.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a regional supply chain team across APAC markets.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to develop functional excellence and high-performance teams.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration among manufacturing, commercial, finance, and quality departments.
- Risk Management & Compliance
- Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity and compliance with APAC regulations.
- Implement sustainable sourcing, ESG initiatives, and ethical supply chain practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 12-18+ years of supply chain experience with at least 5 years in a regional leadership position in APAC.
- Proven track record in greenfield manufacturing setup is strongly preferred.
- Strong expertise in procurement, logistics, inventory planning, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience working across multiple APAC markets, including China, Australia, and SEA.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Hands-on, execution-driven leadership style with a strategic mindset.
