Business Development Director

Our client is seeking a seasoned sales professional to drive growth by selling North American logistics services. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the transportation sales cycle, a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, and strong negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and strategic outreach.
  • Build trust and long-term relationships with prospective clients by demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
  • Represent the company in client meetings and presentations, showcasing logistics solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales to communicate sales progress, client feedback, and retention strategies.
  • Target untapped industries and businesses with transportation and warehousing needs using a multi-channel approach.
  • Partner with internal teams to negotiate pricing and support contract development.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and maintain a strategic, big-picture perspective.
  • Seamlessly transition new accounts to Account Management and Operations for ongoing service delivery.
  • Maintain an organized sales pipeline and ensure CRM data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Analyze market conditions to identify competitive advantages and refine sales strategies.
  • Monitor performance metrics to ensure sales goals are consistently met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience in third-party logistics (3PL).
  • Strong knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture client relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to sales and business development.
