We're currently seeking a skilled and driven Customer Service Manager to join our team at our high-volume manufacturing facility in Lebanon, Indiana. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic customer service team within a fast-paced environment, supporting both our clients and internal departments.
As the Customer Service Manager, you will oversee and mentor the customer service team to ensure excellent client relations, efficient order processing, and alignment with production and logistics. You'll serve as a key liaison between customer service, production, scheduling, and accounting, helping to maintain smooth operations and support key business functions such as credit control, invoicing, and pricing updates.
The Customer Service Manager has these key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the customer service team, ensuring high performance and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with sales and production to balance customer demands with plant capabilities.
- Monitor and verify the accuracy of team outputs, ensuring consistent and high-quality service.
- Build strong relationships with clients, especially those managed by customer service representatives.
- Manage workloads and task distribution within the customer service department.
- Engage with vendors to foster beneficial partnerships when necessary.
- Analyze margins and contribute to cost-saving strategies.
- Participate in leadership meetings and understand financial performance indicators (P&L).
- Oversee purchasing activities and help determine optimal buying practices.
- Monitor customer inventory levels; address issues like slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Promote lean practices to support continuous improvement, efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Mentor and develop customer service staff, identifying and grooming future leaders.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and ensure team members receive recognition and feedback.
The Customer Service Manager should have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive customer service experience
- Prior experience in packaging manufacturing setting is preferred
- Strong communication skills-both verbal and written-with a customer-focused mindset.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- Technologically proficient with advanced knowledge of business software tools.
- Excellent time management, training, and team-building capabilities.
- Confident, professional demeanor with a proactive problem-solving approach.
