Role Overview
This is a newly established senior leadership position responsible for building, scaling, and leading the quality function at a growing high‑voltage, high‑power electronics manufacturing site. The role is highly hands‑on and customer‑focused, with primary responsibility for establishing formal quality systems, driving ISO 9001 certification, and elevating overall quality performance across domestic and international operations.
This position is based at a manufacturing site in the Northeastern United States and will collaborate closely with international manufacturing partners.
Business Need
The role was created in response to sustained growth, increasing product complexity, and heightened customer quality requirements. The existing quality organization requires additional leadership capacity to formalize systems, lead ISO certification efforts, and address quality challenges associated with overseas manufacturing partners.
Key Objectives
- Lead the site through ISO 9001 certification and establish scalable, compliant quality management systems.
- Strengthen customer quality engagement, including audits, assessments, and external requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across both domestic and international manufacturing operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own and lead the ISO 9001 certification process end to end, including direct execution and site readiness.
- Design, implement, and maintain site‑wide quality systems, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide oversight, guidance, and improvement support to international manufacturing partners to ensure process consistency and compliance.
- Partner with site and operations leadership to embed a strong quality culture and accountability at all levels.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a lean quality organization, balancing strategic leadership with hands‑on execution.
Organization and Reporting
- This role provides leadership oversight to the existing quality organization and is positioned above the current Quality Manager.
- The team includes quality supervision, training, and inspection resources, totaling approximately ten employees with this role in place.
- Reports directly to the senior site leader.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in quality leadership roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated, hands‑on experience leading ISO 9001 certification initiatives, including system development, audits, and site readiness.
- Strong working knowledge of quality management systems and standards commonly used in electronics and high‑reliability manufacturing environments, such as ISO 9001, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), internal auditing, document control, and risk‑based quality practices.
- Proven experience in electronics, power electronics, or electromechanical manufacturing, including familiarity with production processes, test and inspection methods, and supplier quality considerations.
- Experience working with contract or overseas manufacturing partners, with the ability to drive consistent quality standards, process controls, and compliance across multiple locations.
- Ability to interpret customer quality requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations and translate them into effective internal processes.
- Track record of operating effectively in lean organizations, with a willingness to personally execute critical quality work when required.

Work Environment and Travel
- Primarily onsite role at the manufacturing location.
- Periodic international travel expected, particularly during the initial phase of the role.
