Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for the design, development, and validation of electrical systems for integration into existing vehicle platforms. This role involves working across both low-voltage (12V) and high-voltage systems, ensuring compatibility between modern components and legacy architectures.

Key responsibilities include electrical harness design, system integration, schematic development, and validation testing. The role also involves working with communication protocols such as CAN and LIN, as well as power distribution modules (PDMs). The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support system integration efforts to implement new electrical architectures into vehicle platforms
  • Design electrical systems and harnesses using industry-standard design tools
  • Build and prototype electrical harnesses and assemblies
  • Install and validate electrical components on prototype systems
  • Conduct testing on electrical systems both in-vehicle and on the bench
  • Document system designs, test results, and changes using PLM tools
  • Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers for component sourcing and development
  • Follow all safety procedures when operating tools and equipment in a workshop environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in electrical engineering
  • Experience with automotive systems, including power electronics
  • Knowledge of CAN and/or LIN communication protocols
  • Experience designing and prototyping PCBs for power distribution systems
  • Understanding of electrical engineering principles as applied to vehicle systems
  • Ability to use common laboratory and shop equipment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical harness design tools (e.g., ECAD platforms)
  • Familiarity with PLM systems and CAD tools used in product development
