Overview
We are seeking an experienced Facilities leader to oversee the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of our buildings and equipment. This role will drive strategic facility initiatives, including site expansions and greenfield construction projects, while ensuring operational efficiency and compliance across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage facility design, planning, and maintenance for multiple sites, including budgeting and scheduling modifications.
- Lead future site selection and greenfield construction planning in collaboration with engineering, technical teams, and architects.
- Oversee space allocation and layout for large-scale facilities.
- Evaluate proposals and bids, recommend vendors, and ensure adherence to budget and timelines.
- Review drawings and specifications; coordinate construction activities to meet project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, fire safety, local ordinances, and insurance requirements.
- Conduct site assessments and provide technical expertise to optimize facility operations.
- Supervise facilities staff for preventive maintenance, service requests, and project execution.
- Provide leadership to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) teams to maintain safe work environments.
- Coordinate external contractor services (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, alarm systems, mechanical systems, etc.).
- Negotiate and manage contracts for custodial, security, landscaping, snow removal, and waste disposal services.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and risk assessments; manage contractor relationships for on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Partner with stakeholders to prioritize projects aligned with strategic business goals.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience managing multi-location facilities in manufacturing, R&D, and administrative settings.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience with greenfield construction and large-scale facility projects.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, humidity control, ESD compliance) and facility design principles.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills.
- Expertise in project management, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and resolve complex issues effectively.
