Logistics Manager
The Logistics Manager for the Americas region is responsible for overseeing logistics operations across the supply chain, focusing on the movement of goods from production facilities to customers, as well as managing international imports and exports. This role also includes oversight of raw material logistics to support procurement and production operations. The position emphasizes cost optimization, inventory accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Regional Logistics Flow Management
- Manage the distribution of finished goods from multiple production sites across North and South America.
- Coordinate export and import logistics to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to ensure timely and reliable inbound logistics for raw materials.
Cost Management
- Monitor and control logistics expenses to align with operational budgets.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality.
- Provide regular reporting on logistics cost performance and improvement strategies.
Import & Export Logistics
- Oversee international logistics operations, including documentation, customs clearance, and trade compliance.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure smooth cross-border operations.
- Ensure adherence to trade regulations in the U.S., Canada, and Brazil.
Inventory Accuracy
- Implement and maintain robust inventory control procedures across all storage locations.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system records.
Procurement Support
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials to production sites.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners.
Process Optimization
- Identify and implement logistics process improvements to enhance efficiency and service levels.
- Leverage logistics management systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) to improve supply chain visibility and decision-making.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with customs, trade, and logistics regulations.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to supply disruptions or distribution challenges.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with internal departments (Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Production) and external logistics providers.
- Act as a key point of contact for resolving logistics issues and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA, particularly TM, IM, and EWM modules.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant logistics experience.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
