Maintenance Planner
One of America's most well-known food manufacturers is looking to bring on a Maintenance Planner to support one of their manufacturing facilities near Richland, WA. The Maintenance Planner develop and manage maintenance schedules, coordinate resources, ensure work order accuracy, and provide technical guidance to optimize equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve preventive maintenance through data-driven planning and job library development
The Maintenance Planner will have the following responsibilities:
- Plan & Schedule Maintenance: Develop and manage maintenance schedules using Infor M3 and other tools. Prioritize and assign work orders (WOs) and preventive maintenance (PMs), coordinating with operations to optimize downtime.
- Prepare & Coordinate Resources: Ensure all necessary parts, tools, and documentation are available before scheduling work. Oversee the parts cage and adjust plans based on material availability.
- Ensure Work Order Accuracy: Review WOs for clarity, scope, and feasibility. Collaborate with stakeholders to confirm details and align expectations.
- Track Compliance & Performance: Schedule regulatory tasks (e.g., calibrations, safety checks) and maintain KPIs to monitor planning effectiveness and plant performance.
- Maintain Systems & Documentation: Keep CMMS records up to date, manage a job library, and ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
The Maintenance Planner will have the following skillset:
- Food Manufacturing & Safety Expertise: Strong knowledge of food production principles, including food safety, quality standards, GMPs, HACCP, FDA/OSHA regulations, and sanitation practices.
- Maintenance & Reliability Skills: Proficient in maintenance best practices, predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis), and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Technical & Engineering Knowledge: Familiar with electrical systems, PLCs, fabrication, welding, and processing equipment; capable of interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Planning & Resource Management: Skilled in maintenance planning, job estimation, resource leveling, and developing work instructions and repair kits.
- Communication & Team Collaboration: Effective communicator in cross-functional teams, aligning maintenance with production schedules and writing clear instructions.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making: Able to analyze issues, evaluate alternatives, and anticipate outcomes to support operational improvements.
- Experience & Certifications: 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience; preferred certifications include HACCP, SQF, ammonia handling, boiler operation, and pneumatics.
