ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead day-to-day maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing a skilled technical team, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of equipment and facilities, and supporting production goals through preventive maintenance and continuous improvement. The position plays a key role in reducing downtime, optimizing maintenance programs, and driving operational efficiency.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance Leadership

  • Oversee daily maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of work orders, prompt response to equipment breakdowns, and adherence to safety and productivity standards
  • Plan, assign, and track preventive maintenance for production equipment, support systems, and spare parts inventory to minimize downtime
  • Lead, coach, and develop a maintenance team of approximately 10-20 employees, promoting skill development and teamwork
  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with internal standards and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, USDA)

Projects & Budget Oversight

  • Coordinate and execute in-house maintenance and improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency
  • Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, focusing on cost control and efficient resource utilization
  • Track and report key maintenance metrics, including downtime reduction, cost savings, and project completion performance

Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Clearly communicate maintenance expectations, standards, and performance goals to the team
  • Partner with production and other departments to align maintenance schedules, resolve issues, and improve processes
  • Act as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related concerns and escalate issues when necessary

Additional Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret technical documentation, diagrams, and blueprints to support maintenance planning
  • Identify and troubleshoot irregularities in equipment performance and operational reliability
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support facility operations

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education (up to 18 months) in engineering, electronics, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
  • 3-6 years of hands-on maintenance experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity

Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge (journey-level) of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, boiler, and mechanical systems
  • Experience with maintenance best practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with OSHA and USDA regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Effective leadership and communication skills with a focus on coaching and team development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer applications

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb, crouch, kneel, crawl, reach, and twist as required
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry items exceeding 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with a strong emphasis on safety and quality standards
