Manufacturing Quality Engineer

DSJ Global is partnered with a Fortune 1000 company to add a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to their talented team. This facility manufactures metal products for infrastructure utilization, and they are adding to their team to meet projected growth targets. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing data-driven suggestions for improvements to production and product quality.

NOTE: this position may require up to 25% domestic travel to meet with suppliers.

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Identifies and mitigates risks to meet codes, specs, and customer requirements.
  • Interprets internal and external quality standards and specifications.
  • Drive LEAN principles to minimize waste.
  • Leads and participates in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
  • Interfaces with customers and internal teams to resolve nonconformance and improve quality metrics.
  • Acts as a liaison between QA, supply chain, operations, and design engineering to resolve quality issues.
  • Define quality processes for new product introduction.
  • Seek cost savings opportunities related to quality improvements
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Promote a culture of safety across the facility.

The ideal candidate will have the following skillset/qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred - AS may be considered with additional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience, ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of experience in a metals manufacturing environment.
  • Ideal candidate has experience in metals manufacturing and welding
  • Knowledge and experience working with DOT certification requirements by state jurisdiction
  • 6-Sigma Green, Black or Master Black Belt preferred
  • Strong communication skills to work well internally and with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally.
