Plant Manager
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead and oversee all daily operations of our industrial manufacturing facility specializing in metals production and processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy manufacturing, a deep understanding of metal fabrication or processing, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, safety, and logistics.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee production schedules and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Manage plant budgets, cost controls, and capital expenditures.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, and sales.
- Recruit, train, and develop plant staff to build a high-performing team.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on operational performance.
- Drive initiatives to reduce waste, optimize resource utilization, and enhance sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive experience in industrial manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a plant leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of metal manufacturing processes (e.g., forging, casting, machining, heat treatment).
- Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems and manufacturing software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in unionized environments.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, OSHA, and environmental compliance standards.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
