Position Summary:
The Procurement Manager will oversee the strategic sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management activities to support the company's aerospace and aviation operations. This role is critical in ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality materials, components, and services while optimizing cost and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and project timelines.
- Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers of aerospace-grade materials, components, and services.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance evaluations, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with FAA, DoD, and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to align procurement with technical specifications.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain disruptions to mitigate risks.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting for audits and internal reviews.
- Supervise and mentor procurement staff, fostering a high-performance team culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of procurement experience in aerospace, aviation, or a highly regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Certification such as CPM, CPSM, or APICS is a plus.
