Procurement Specialist
We are supporting a leading Machinery Manufacturing company who is looking for a strategic and detail-oriented sourcing professional to join their team. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with teams across operations, finance, and engineering to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials essential for production. You'll take the lead in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving sourcing initiatives that support operational efficiency and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage procurement strategies to meet production timelines and quality standards
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to support material and component needs
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize value and performance
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when needed
- Lead cost-reduction initiatives and sourcing projects across the organization
- Maintain optimal inventory levels using tools like Kanban, Excel, and ERP systems
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and industry best practices
What You Bring:
- Strong negotiation skills and a track record of successful supplier management
- Deep understanding of sourcing strategies and supply chain operations
- Familiarity with manufacturing components such as machined parts, plastics, PCBA, and power systems
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and present insights
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills across teams and vendors
- Proactive approach with a strong sense of urgency and ownership
- Experience with project management and cross-functional collaboration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems and Kanban inventory practices
- Demonstrated success in negotiating low-volume, high-value orders
