Production Manager
Position Summary
The Production Manager leads daily manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This role manages production teams, oversees scheduling, supports continuous improvement, and ensures strict compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily production activities to achieve targets for output, quality, cost, and safety.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules, labor, and resources for efficient workflow.
- Track performance metrics (KPI) and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Lead and develop supervisors and frontline production staff.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management.
- Foster a positive, safety-focused, collaborative work environment.
- Ensure adherence to GMPs, HACCP plans, and all FDA/USDA (if applicable) regulations.
- Work closely with QA to address deviations, root-cause issues, and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate production and compliance documentation.
- Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements using Lean or similar tools.
- Support initiatives to improve yield, reduce waste, and strengthen overall productivity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of production or manufacturing leadership, preferably in food & beverage or CPG.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
