Quality Manager - Manufacturing

A leading manufacturer in the consumer goods sector is seeking a Quality Manager to lead site-level quality, hygiene, and microbiological programs. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and is passionate about delivering excellence in product and process quality. This role is based out of the Bowling Green, KY area and currently is considering local candidates only.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead external audit readiness and execution, including customer, third-party, and regulatory audits.
  • Lead site quality and hygiene strategy, driving KPIs, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain an integrated ISO-based management system.
  • Identify and escalate product defects related to formula, packaging, or process design.
  • Manage microbiological programs including testing, trending, organism identification, and analysis.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the Quality function for customer-related quality issues, sample requests, and new product introductions.
  • Provide detailed solutions to quality challenges across the organization.
  • Collaborate with hygiene personnel to ensure plant hygiene standards are upheld.
  • Oversee pest control programs, quality documentation, and site‑level risk assessments.
  • Support cross-functional teams (R&D, Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing) on new initiatives and product launches.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including leadership roles in Quality at a manufacturing site within food & bev, pharma, or consumer goods.
  • Strong working knowledge of quality fundamentals, tools, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Prior experience managing or working closely with microbiological or QC laboratories.
  • Strong knowledge of hygienic manufacturing principles and equipment design.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Quality certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO Lead Auditor) are preferred.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving.
