R&D Food Scientist

Job Overview

We're looking for a Food Scientist to help develop and improve food products from concept to launch. This role involves research, testing, and collaboration across teams to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant products.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop new food products, from idea to commercialization.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Improve existing products for better production efficiency.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct sensory evaluations and troubleshoot product issues.
• Support Sales, QA, and Production teams with technical expertise.
• Stay updated on food regulations and labeling requirements.
• Maintain accurate ingredient and label documentation.
• Assist with sourcing and documenting new ingredients.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Genesis R&D software is a plus.
• Strong understanding of food ingredients, nutrition, and labeling.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or in a team.
• Strong problem-solving and sensory evaluation skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work in both office and lab settings, with exposure to food allergens.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to distinguish colors and evaluate food taste and texture.
