Position Overview

Our client is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. This role is critical in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and components. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to supply chain optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials.
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, and performance management.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to drive cost savings and value creation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement with product development and manufacturing needs.
  • Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain roles within the automotive or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, cost analysis, and global sourcing practices.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to supplier sites and company facilities.
