Senior Quality Engineer

Location: Lowell, MA (On‑site)
Industry: Semiconductor / Defense / Aerospace

A global semiconductor manufacturer supporting data center, telecom, industrial, automotive, and defense markets is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support high‑reliability products within diode and MMIC business units. This role provides hands‑on quality leadership across manufacturing, testing, inspections, customer interface, and continuous improvement initiatives in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day quality support for customer and internal issues including spec reviews, source inspections, returns, and root‑cause analysis
  • Lead quality reviews with Operations and Business Unit partners to ensure compliance with customer, internal, and aerospace requirements (AS9100D)
  • Support growing automotive quality systems (IATF 16949) as applicable
  • Interface with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical and quality compliance
  • Support and conduct First Article Inspections (AS9102)
  • Prepare and present customer‑facing 8D investigations and corrective actions
  • Apply and guide use of Control Plans and FMEAs; act as a quality "change agent"
  • Support site quality system initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of quality or engineering experience supporting semiconductor or electronic components
  • Experience in Military/Aerospace and/or Automotive high‑reliability environments
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing and device theory
  • Working knowledge of military, aerospace, and/or automotive quality standards
  • Ability to build and evaluate high‑reliability screening and test plans
  • Experience with statistical sampling and data analysis (JMP, Minitab a plus)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
