The Role

As Senior Sales Manager - Food Logistics, you will take ownership of driving business growth while also leading a small commercial team.

This is a senior, hands-on sales role with a strong focus on new business development, combined with responsibility for coaching and developing a team of sales professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive new customer acquisition within the Food, FMCG, and temperature-controlled logistics sector
  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with overall business objectives
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline through proactive outreach, networking, and industry engagement
  • Lead complex RFQs, tenders, and commercial negotiations
  • Work closely with solution design and operations teams to develop tailored logistics offerings

Account Management

  • Oversee and further develop selected strategic customer relationships
  • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and long-term partnerships
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery in collaboration with operations

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team of sales professionals
  • Provide guidance on pipeline management, client engagement, and closing strategies
  • Set clear targets and support team members in achieving commercial success
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative sales culture

Your Profile

  • Proven experience in contract logistics sales, with strong exposure to Food, FMCG, or temperature-controlled logistics
  • Demonstrated success in winning new business and managing complex sales cycles
  • Initial leadership or mentoring experience within a sales environment
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate customer needs into tailored solutions
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in German and English; additional languages are advantageous
