Sr. Manager Supply Chain
Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Manager, Supply Chain to lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will oversee a team of 4-5 employees and will be responsible for driving execution across production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
The ideal candidate is a player-coach leader who thrives on being embedded with the team, improving processes on the floor, and ensuring operational excellence across the full supply chain lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Execution
- Oversee daily supply chain operations including production, purchasing, inventory control, production planning, and warehouse/shipping & receiving
- Ensure materials availability to support production schedules and on-time customer delivery
- Partner closely with production to align capacity, scheduling, and material flow
- Monitor and improve inventory accuracy, turns, and overall working capital performance
Purchasing & Supplier Management
- Manage procurement activities including supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management
- Develop strong vendor relationships to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are consistently met
- Identify cost savings opportunities through strategic sourcing and continuous improvement initiatives
Production Control & Planning
- Lead production planning and scheduling activities, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and operational constraints
- Implement and improve S&OP / production control processes to drive visibility and efficiency
- Coordinate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and finance
Warehouse & Logistics
- Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, material handling, and shipping
- Ensure efficient inbound/outbound logistics and on-time shipments
- Drive improvements in material flow, layout, and warehouse processes
Leadership & Team Development
- Directly manage and develop a team of 4-5 supply chain professionals
- Act as a hands-on leader, actively involved in day-to-day problem-solving and execution
- Coach, mentor, and build a high-performance, accountable team culture
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements across procurement, production, and logistics
- Drive lean manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives
- Track and report KPIs related to service, cost, and efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of management experience leading supply chain or operations teams
Proven experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of:
- Production operations
- Purchasing / procurement
- Inventory management
- Production planning / control
- Warehouse and logistics operations
Demonstrated hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset (Lean/Six Sigma preferred)
Preferred Experience
- Background in industrial / heavy manufacturing environments
- Experience managing end-to-end plant supply chain operations
- Exposure to S&OP and demand planning processes
