Strategic Buyer (M/F/D)

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer to join our client's procurement team in Frankfurt. This is a key role within a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation, responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that ensure cost efficiency, supply security, and compliance with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies for direct and indirect materials, ensuring alignment with business objectives and global supply chain requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal terms, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Cost Optimisation: Drive cost-saving initiatives through value analysis, competitive bidding, and long-term agreements.
  • Risk Management: Monitor market trends and supplier performance to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure adherence to pharmaceutical industry regulations, GMP standards, and internal quality requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, production, and finance teams to support new product launches and operational needs.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilise procurement analytics to track KPIs, identify opportunities, and report progress to senior management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in strategic procurement, ideally within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools (SAP experience is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German language proficiency is highly desirable.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
