We are working with a leading food manufacturing business undergoing continued investment and expansion across its European operations. As part of this growth, they are looking to hire a Strategic Sourcing Manager (CAPEX) to drive procurement excellence across major capital projects.
This is a high-impact role, partnering closely with engineering, operations, and senior leadership to deliver large-scale investment initiatives.
The Role
As Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will take ownership of CAPEX procurement strategy and execution, supporting major projects including plant expansions, new production lines, and process optimisation initiatives.
You will play a key role in ensuring cost efficiency, supplier performance, and risk mitigation across complex, high-value spend areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing strategy and execution for CAPEX projects (e.g. machinery, production lines, automation, construction, engineering services)
- Partner with engineering and project teams from early design phase through to project delivery
- Manage tender processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations for high-value investments
- Develop and manage relationships with OEMs, EPC contractors, and key technical suppliers
- Drive cost optimisation while ensuring quality, compliance, and project timelines are met
- Implement procurement best practices and governance across project pipelines
- Conduct supplier evaluations and risk assessments for critical project partners
- Collaborate with global procurement teams to align on category strategies and leverage scale
Profile
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing / procurement of CAPEX within food, FMCG, or manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of industrial equipment, engineering services, and project-based sourcing
- Experience working on large-scale investment projects (plant builds, upgrades, automation)
- Solid commercial acumen with strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders across engineering, operations, and finance
- Comfortable working in a matrix, international environment
- Fluency in English and Spanish
