Supply Chain Lead
Job Summary
A global manufacturing company is seeking a Supply Chain Lead to oversee production planning and procurement operations at its site near Pittsburgh. This role is critical to ensuring the uninterrupted flow of raw materials and finished goods, supporting production schedules, and optimizing supply chain performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in site-based procurement, ERP systems, and vendor management within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess supply and demand dynamics to identify potential imbalances and recommend proactive measures to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Develop and manage both short-term and long-term material requirements plans (MRP) to support production schedules and customer demand.
- Oversee inventory levels, safety stock thresholds, and lead times to ensure consistent material availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Execute procurement activities for raw materials, equipment, and services in alignment with site operational needs and approved requisitions.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with regional suppliers, monitoring performance and resolving delivery or quality issues as needed.
- Administer purchase orders within the ERP system, ensuring timely issuance, tracking, and follow-up on critical or delayed orders.
- Lead cost negotiations and identify opportunities for savings through strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier base optimization.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of procurement experience, preferably in a site-based or industrial setting.
- SAP ERP experience required
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with contract terms, Incoterms, and procurement best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
