Supply Planning Manager
The Supply Planning Manager will join our client's North American Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team. This role focuses on short- to mid-term planning for finished goods production and inventory oversight. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams-including production, engineering, demand planning, and procurement-to build and maintain capacity planning models aligned with business goals. This position reports to the Associate Director of Supply Planning.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the deployment and refinement of the SAP IBP Supply Module, ensuring it integrates cost, capacity, material availability, logistics, and service level considerations.
- Develop and manage a monthly capacity plan that supports the IBP process, balancing service levels, production schedules, inventory targets, and cost efficiency.
- Facilitate monthly Supply Review meetings as part of the broader Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle.
- Serve as a key connection between planning and plant operations, staying informed on production and engineering updates.
- Define and monitor inventory targets and Days of Supply (DOS) for key product lines in collaboration with leadership and demand planning.
- Oversee inventory levels across warehouse locations and coordinate with logistics to adjust allocations based on shifting customer needs.
- Continuously assess and improve planning processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Partner with the Customer Service team to ensure alignment between planning outputs and customer expectations.
- Provide analytical and reporting support to internal stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in supply chain planning or production control; operations experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required; MBA preferred.
- Familiarity with advanced planning systems and methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 15%.
- Must be based in Chicago, IL.
