Technical Manager
Our client, a leading global packaging organization, is seeking a Technical Manager to serve as the primary technical expert within a manufacturing facility. This role will drive product development, process optimization, and customer-facing technical support across flexible packaging solutions. The position plays a critical role in bridging R&D, manufacturing, and customer needs to ensure successful commercialization and long-term product performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the plant's technical lead across film structures, adhesives, printing, lamination, and processing technologies
- Lead and develop the site technical team while partnering closely with R&D and commercial teams
- Manage product trials, including coordination with customers and ensuring manufacturability at scale
- Establish product specifications, process parameters, and quality testing protocols
- Oversee technical documentation, change management, and process improvements within the plant
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, quality, and operational efficiency
- Partner with customers to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with quality teams on audits, compliance, and product safety requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as engineering required
- 5+ years of experience in flexible packaging, with a focus on lamination, adhesives, or printing technologies
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, product development, and quality systems
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and interface with customers
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma preferred)
