Production Supervisor
Production Supervisor required for leading industrial machinery manufacturer

- $80,000-$90,000 per year
The Production Supervisor will have the following responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee daily production activities for a manufacturing team on the floor
- Set clear expectations for team members and monitor performance against production goals
- Coordinate staffing, assign work, and adjust priorities to meet production schedules
- Track progress against output targets and make real-time adjustments to keep operations on track
- Train and onboard new employees, while continuing to coach and develop existing team members
- Address performance issues, administer discipline when needed, and support employee relations in line with company policies and union guidelines
- Maintain strong communication across departments to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution
- Promote a safe working environment by enforcing proper use of equipment, PPE, and safety procedures
- Ensure quality standards are consistently met and reinforced on the production floor
- Identify and help implement process improvements related to efficiency, quality, and cost
- Respond to production issues or emergencies in a timely manner, including off-shift situations if needed
- Oversee time and attendance tracking, payroll-related inputs, and production reporting
- Support equipment uptime by coordinating repairs and recommending improvements or new tools
- Compile and communicate production data, results, and updates to leadership
- Build and maintain positive working relationships within a unionized environment
The ideal Production Supervisor candidate will have the following skillset:
- At least 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting
- Minimum of 3 years in a direct supervisory or team leadership role within production
- Background in assembly-based manufacturing environments; electromechanical experience is a plus
- Familiarity with refrigeration-related products or systems is helpful but not required
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and resolve conflicts effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both on the floor and cross-functionally
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment
- Experience working in or alongside a union workforce is preferred
- Proficiency with basic computer tools, including Excel and Word
- Ability to work a rotating second-shift schedule with extended hours when needed
- Willingness to work occasional weekends based on production needs
- Capable of spending significant time on the production floor, including standing and walking
- Able to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and moderate noise
