Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor required for leading industrial machinery manufacturer

• $80,000-$90,000 per year

The Production Supervisor will have the following responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee daily production activities for a manufacturing team on the floor
• Set clear expectations for team members and monitor performance against production goals
• Coordinate staffing, assign work, and adjust priorities to meet production schedules
• Track progress against output targets and make real-time adjustments to keep operations on track
• Train and onboard new employees, while continuing to coach and develop existing team members
• Address performance issues, administer discipline when needed, and support employee relations in line with company policies and union guidelines
• Maintain strong communication across departments to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution
• Promote a safe working environment by enforcing proper use of equipment, PPE, and safety procedures
• Ensure quality standards are consistently met and reinforced on the production floor
• Identify and help implement process improvements related to efficiency, quality, and cost
• Respond to production issues or emergencies in a timely manner, including off-shift situations if needed
• Oversee time and attendance tracking, payroll-related inputs, and production reporting
• Support equipment uptime by coordinating repairs and recommending improvements or new tools
• Compile and communicate production data, results, and updates to leadership
• Build and maintain positive working relationships within a unionized environment

The ideal Production Supervisor candidate will have the following skillset:

• At least 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting
• Minimum of 3 years in a direct supervisory or team leadership role within production
• Background in assembly-based manufacturing environments; electromechanical experience is a plus
• Familiarity with refrigeration-related products or systems is helpful but not required
• Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives
• Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and resolve conflicts effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both on the floor and cross-functionally
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment
• Experience working in or alongside a union workforce is preferred
• Proficiency with basic computer tools, including Excel and Word
• Ability to work a rotating second-shift schedule with extended hours when needed
• Willingness to work occasional weekends based on production needs
• Capable of spending significant time on the production floor, including standing and walking
• Able to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and moderate noise
