The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to take ownership of complex IT infrastructure environments and play a key role in the ongoing development of enterprise systems and services.
Working closely with both IT and business stakeholders, you will design, implement, and support critical infrastructure solutions while acting as a technical expert across a diverse technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and continuously improve the organisation's IT infrastructure.
- Design and deliver infrastructure solutions that support business and digitalisation initiatives.
- Implement and expand server, database, and security environments.
- Perform operational tasks and administration across enterprise systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and IT processes.
- Lead and participate in infrastructure and transformation projects.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to internal stakeholders.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support across the IT environment.
- Support on-call and standby service requirements when required.
Requirements
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or a related field.
- Several years of experience as a Senior IT Systems Engineer within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Server technologies and VMware infrastructure.
- Proven experience with Active Directory, including:
- User and group management
- Group Policy (GPO)
- DNS
- DHCP
- Solid experience administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) databases.
- Exposure to Linux environments would be advantageous.
- Fluent German and strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- High levels of responsibility, resilience, and adaptability.
