Senior Merchandiser (Home Appliances)
About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established international consumer electronics brand with a strong presence across global markets. They are seeking an experienced Senior Merchandiser - Home Appliances to lead end-to-end product commercialization activities across a portfolio of small home appliances.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded product professional who enjoys managing the entire product lifecycle, from concept development and supplier sourcing through to pricing, order execution, and supplier relationship management.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end merchandising and product development activities for home appliance categories.
- Partner with marketing, design, engineering, and sourcing teams to translate market trends into commercially viable products.
- Manage product development projects from initial design concept through sample development, costing, testing, and mass production.
- Conduct supplier sourcing, vendor selection, and capability assessments to identify best-fit manufacturing partners.
- Lead pricing negotiations and cost engineering initiatives to achieve target margins and business objectives.
- Coordinate RFQ, quotation analysis, and product tendering processes.
- Manage purchase orders, production schedules, and delivery timelines to ensure on-time market launches.
- Monitor project milestones and proactively resolve development, quality, or supply chain issues.
- Work closely with quality and compliance teams to ensure products meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with OEM and ODM suppliers across Asia.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to support future product strategies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Product Development, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of merchandising, sourcing, procurement, or product development experience within home appliances, electrical products, consumer electronics, or related industries.
- Strong experience OEM/ODM supplier management in China and Asia.
- Proven track record in product development, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.
- Hands-on experience in costing, pricing analysis, and margin management.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, quality requirements, and product commercialization.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.
