Account Manager
Position: Account Manager - Environmental Services
A leading provider in the environmental services industry is seeking an Account Manager to drive growth and retention of solid waste solutions within a designated territory. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and developing strategies to stay ahead of competitors. The Account Manager will collaborate with facility leadership to prepare accurate sales proposals and contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively generate new business and maintain existing accounts through direct outreach and relationship management.
- Conduct regular client visits to assess service needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain and update a database of prospective clients using CRM tools.
- Expand market presence by identifying and penetrating new areas.
- Understand pricing structures, cost components, and service margins to develop competitive proposals.
- Provide accurate quotes and draft service agreements in collaboration with management.
- Demonstrate expertise in waste service applications, including roll-off, front-end, and compaction solutions.
- Deliver compelling sales presentations tailored to client needs.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
- Support pricing strategy adjustments for underperforming accounts.
- Conduct waste stream assessments to identify recycling or diversion opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events and community functions.
- Engage with large-scale clients and public sector entities, including bid preparation.
- Assist in identifying and integrating acquisition opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years of sales experience, preferably in environmental or industrial services.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in interpreting business documents and preparing reports.
- Solid math skills, including basic geometry and algebra.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Physical & Work Environment:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent driving required; exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Moderate to high noise levels depending on the environment.
