Overview

The Power & Chemical area includes:

  • Two lime kilns
  • Three sets of black liquor evaporators
  • Influent and effluent treatment systems
  • Two black liquor recovery boilers
  • Two bark & natural gas power boilers
  • Two hydrogen-cooled turbine generators

This area is managed by four area managers, each responsible for specific processes. Candidates with experience in any of these systems are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, environmental, quality, production, and cost targets.
  • Lead safety initiatives, including work systems, observations, and operator training.
  • Maintain and enforce high operational standards through clear communication and accountability.
  • Drive continuous improvement using methodologies such as IEPM, MWS, RCFA, Basic Care, and Preventive Maintenance.
  • Coordinate maintenance priorities and manpower scheduling.
  • Plan and execute annual outages.
  • Ensure quality output for internal customers.
  • Foster a collaborative and engaged team environment.
  • Monitor and manage area costs versus budget.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years post-college experience, including at least 2 years in pulp & paper operations.
  • Technical degree in engineering preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Background in utilities, lime kilns, or evaporators preferred.
