Business Development Manager (Air Freight)

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager with deep expertise in air freight and international freight forwarding to join our growing logistics team. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth across global markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong network within the air cargo industry and a proven track record of selling freight forwarding solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand the company's air freight and freight forwarding customer base.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across verticals including manufacturing, retail, automotive, and technology.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, agents, and logistics partners.
  • Collaborate with operations and pricing teams to create customized solutions for clients.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals that align with company goals and profitability targets.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM tools.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in logistics sales, with a strong focus on air freight and freight forwarding.
  • Deep understanding of international shipping regulations, Incoterms, customs procedures, and cargo documentation.
  • Proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and exceed sales targets.
  • Strong network of contacts within airlines, freight forwarders, and global shippers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Multilingual capabilities (especially in Spanish, Mandarin, or German) are a plus.
  • Experience with digital freight platforms or logistics tech solutions.
  • Familiarity with trade lanes across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
