Design Quality Director - China - Smart Home Appliances
About the Role
We are seeking a visionary and technically strong Design Quality Director to lead the design assurance function for our own-brand home appliance products. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our products are not only innovative and user-centric but also meet the highest standards of design reliability, safety, and performance from concept to launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design quality strategy across all product categories (e.g., kitchen, laundry, air treatment).
- Drive DFMEA, design validation, and requirements traceability processes.
- Collaborate with R&D, product management, and manufacturing teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing and cost optimization.
- Establish and maintain design quality KPIs, dashboards, and reporting systems.
- Oversee simulation and testing platforms for EMC, thermal, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9000, IEC, functional safety).
- Build and mentor a high-performing design quality engineering team.
- Partner with suppliers and ODMs to ensure component-level design integrity.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in design quality or product development within the home appliance industry.
- Proven track record in own-brand product development or ODM/OEM collaboration.
- Deep understanding of design reliability, functional safety, and value engineering.
- Familiarity with tools such as SolidWorks, Cadence, FMEA software, and simulation platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
