Director of Operations
DSJ Global is currently partnered with a leading automotive manufacturer who is looking to add a strong Director to their team. As the Director Operations, you will oversee and drive production performance across the shop floor, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives in each functional area.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the setup, ramp-up, and ongoing management of the Shop, translating strategic goals into actionable plans.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to identify and implement optimal technologies, methods, and production systems.
- Guide and mentor leaders and teams to meet performance expectations.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external standards (BMS, VCMS, ISO 9001 & 14001).
- Celebrate team successes and address personnel matters with professionalism.
- Strategically allocate and manage workforce and resources.
- Define and implement operational practices that meet targets for Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment, and Safety (QDCES).
- Contribute to the People Development Committee, focusing on succession planning, performance reviews, and talent growth.
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Build organizational capability through training and development initiatives.
- Deliver products that meet specifications through continuous improvement and structured problem-solving.
- Foster strong collaboration within the teams.
- Support the evolution toward a lean, efficient organizational structure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree is a plus.
- 8-10 years of senior leadership experience.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, ideally within the automotive industry.
- Extensive expertise in lean production methodologies and operational systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead successful launches and scale manufacturing capabilities
- Adept at assembling and guiding cross-functional teams through periods of rapid growth
- Strategic thinker with a strong orientation toward achieving measurable outcomes
- Exceptional communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills
- Skilled at cultivating trust and fostering engagement across all organizational levels
- Analytical and forward-thinking, with a hands-on approach to solving complex challenges
- Proven track record in overseeing and developing large, diverse teams
