A leading international industrial services and logistics provider with a strong footprint across Europe, North America, and Asia is seeking an Operations Director Contract Logistics to take end-to-end responsibility for multiple operational units within a complex industrial logistics environment.
The organization delivers integrated contract logistics solutions for highly regulated and operationally demanding industries, managing logistics operations directly on customer sites.
Your Responsibilities
- Overall strategic and operational responsibility for several contract logistics operations
- Leadership of approximately 5 Operations Managers with total responsibility for 200-300 employees
- Full accountability for operational excellence, service delivery, productivity, quality, health & safety, and cost performance
- Senior operational interface for key customers and internal stakeholders
- Definition, monitoring, and achievement of operational KPIs and budget targets
- Development and coaching of the management layer, including succession planning and organizational development
- Oversight of workforce and resource planning across multiple operational areas
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Logistics and standardized process optimization
- Ensure compliance with quality, process, and safety standards across all operations
- Identify operational risks and proactively implement corrective and preventive measures
- Close collaboration with HR, Engineering, Quality, and Commercial teams to support existing operations and new business initiatives
Your Profile
- Completed degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Extensive leadership experience in contract logistics or warehouse logistics, ideally within an industrial context
- Proven experience managing managers and leading large, multi-layered operational organizations
- Strong expertise in KPI-driven operations management and Lean methodologies
- Strategic, analytical, and business-oriented mindset
- High level of leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Structured, independent, and solution-focused working style
- Confident user of MS Office; strong SAP knowledge preferred
- Very good German and good English language skills (written and spoken)
