Compensation: $116,000 - $148,000
Reports to: Senior Director, Engineering - North America
Role Overview
This position provides engineering support across multiple manufacturing plants within the Rigid Paper and Closures Division. The Engineer V will lead capital and general projects, focusing on automation, robotics, and high-speed manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, cost estimates, and financial analyses for capital and general projects.
- Prepare and submit capital project documentation.
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to reduce costs and modernize equipment.
- Manage technical projects including equipment installation, commissioning, and qualification.
- Conduct Factory and Plant Acceptance Tests (FAT & PAT).
- Support startup of new equipment and ensure performance meets budgeted expectations.
- Troubleshoot and maintain automated production machinery, including electrical, mechanical, PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and vision systems.
- Apply automation to reduce costs, improve reliability, and enhance consistency.
- Utilize robotics, AGVs, and machine automation in high-speed production environments.
- Program and troubleshoot Rockwell Automation PLCs and HMIs.
- Use AutoCAD for layout and electrical documentation.
- Manage project budgets and procurement using internal systems.
- Participate in engineering meetings to evaluate equipment designs and methods.
- Plan, schedule, and execute assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in automation, robotics, and AGVs in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, servo systems, vision systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electromechanical equipment.
- Proficient in Rockwell Automation software and AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
Travel
- Travel may range from 50% to 70%, depending on project locations, with Jackson, TN being a central hub.
