Responsibilities/Overview:
- Lead a small engineering team within thermoplastic composites and process development R&D group.
- Drive development and evaluation of new and existing thermoplastic materials, blending, compounding, and extrusion technologies.
- Provide daily technical leadership, strategic direction, and project prioritization based on business value.
- Identify, scope, and coordinate new research initiatives in partnership with operations and cross‑functional teams.
- Oversee stakeholder communication and guide team-level OKR planning.
- Manage projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes, quality, cost, waste reduction, and process stability.
- Apply and coach the scientific method to build confidence in technical solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical representative for thermoplastic process development across the organization.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in a relevant engineering field with 8-10+ years in product, process, or technology development.
- Proven people‑leadership experience (coaching, mentoring, performance support).
- Strong cross‑functional project leadership and priority management.
- Data‑driven problem solver with solid experimental and analytical skills.
- Able to lead teams through ambiguity and early‑stage innovation.
- Clear communicator who can simplify complex technical topics.
- Strong collaborator with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Accountable, hands‑on, and committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
