Engineering Team Lead
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Team Lead to oversee sustaining engineering efforts across complex mechanical systems. This individual will lead a team focused on resolving field and production issues, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the performance, reliability, and life cycle success of existing products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of sustaining engineers and technical staff
- Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for field and manufacturing issues
- Partner cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, quality, and service teams
- Manage engineering change processes and product life cycle documentation
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting mechanical systems (combustion, refrigeration, etc.)
- Support cost reduction initiatives, supplier changes, and component obsolescence
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal policies
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across sustaining activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related)
- 5+ years experience in technical engineering / sustaining / product support roles
- Strong background working with complex electro-mechanical systems in manufacturing environments
- Experience with combustion systems, chillers, or similar mechanical systems
- Proven ability in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and hands-on problem solving
- Leadership experience or readiness to step into a team lead / people management role
- Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering documentation systems
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering
- Background in HVAC, industrial equipment, or energy systems
- Experience with controls systems (PLC, embedded systems)
- Familiarity with standards such as UL, ASHRAE, AHRI, ANSI
- Project management experience
