Maintenance Superintendent

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the pulp and paper manufacturing facility. This role ensures the reliability and efficiency of plant equipment and infrastructure by leading a team of maintenance professionals, managing preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise maintenance teams, including planners, technicians, and contractors.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and reliability teams to support production goals.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and lead root cause analysis for failures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in pulp and paper.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
