Maintenance Superintendent
Employment Type: Full‑time
Shift: Second Shift (4:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
Overtime: Eligible for Saturday overtime
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team, including supervisors, technicians, and contractors
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards (e.g., GMPs, HACCP, OSHA)
- Partner with operations, quality, and engineering teams to support production goals
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and external service providers
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, cost reduction, and safety
- Analyze equipment performance and downtime data to identify root causes and implement solutions
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, and plant upgrades as needed
- Provide leadership coverage during second‑shift operations and coordinate weekend maintenance as required
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (food or beverage strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, and automation systems
- Proven experience managing teams in a union or non‑union environment
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning best practices
- Solid understanding of food safety and regulatory requirements
- Ability to work second shift hours (4:00 PM - 1:00 AM) and support Saturday overtime as needed
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent technical training and experience will be considered
