Manager, Production Planning

The Production Planning Manager is responsible and accountable for the strategy, planning, and execution of production schedules across several manufacturing plants in multiple states.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead supply chain execution for new and ongoing programs, ensuring alignment across procurement, production, and logistics teams.
- Develop and manage production schedules to optimize efficiency, reduce lead times, and meet customer delivery expectations.
- Build and maintain capacity models to support both current operations and long-term strategic planning.
- Utilize MRP systems to develop and maintain accurate production schedules, ensuring timely availability of materials and components to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing production disruptions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and international manufacturing sites to coordinate sourcing, import/export activities, and production planning.
- Drive material strategy and advise commercial teams on capacity, timelines, and fulfillment capabilities.
- Monitor supplier performance and proactively address risks related to inventory, production, and delivery.
- Manage complex projects from initiation through completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Support forecasting and planning efforts with a focus on execution and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate staffing, storage, and transportation needs in alignment with production forecasts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, production planning, procurement, or program management.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, shift schedules, and procurement processes.
- Experience with integrated planning systems and production management tools.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities independently.
- Highly analytical with a track record of solving complex problems and driving results.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
