The Manufacturing Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes and lean cell layouts for both new production and overhaul/repair operations, ensuring alignment with aerospace and hydraulic system standards.
  • Spearhead cross-functional initiatives to identify, justify, and procure precision tooling, test equipment, and automation solutions to enhance production efficiency and quality.
  • Establish and continuously refine production standards, work instructions, and build documentation to support scalable and repeatable manufacturing of electromechanical assemblies.
  • Provide hands-on support in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system failures, collaborating with design and test engineering teams.
  • Review and validate engineering drawings and CAD models for manufacturability, initiating Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to optimize design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Witness and evaluate acceptance testing of aerospace components and systems, ensuring compliance with performance specifications and test protocol accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma, Kaizen, and root cause analysis methodologies to enhance product reliability and reduce cycle times.
  • Translate engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs) into accurate and structured Manufacturing BOMs (MBOMs), integrating ERP and PLM systems for traceability and configuration control.
  • Conduct and/or witness qualification, performance, and environmental testing of new products, including vibration, thermal cycling, humidity, and duty cycle validation per aerospace standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD).

  • Solid understanding of machining processes, material science, and manufacturing techniques for precision components used in aerospace and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, circuit design, and electromechanical integration in aerospace-grade assemblies.
  • Experience working with aircraft systems, military-grade equipment, or defense-related platforms, including exposure to environmental and performance testing.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry standards such as AS9100, MIL-STD, and DO-160, with experience in quality audits and compliance documentation.
  • Exposure to FAA/EASA certification processes, including documentation, testing, and regulatory liaison, is a strong plus.
