Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a strategic and hands-on Manufacturing Manager to lead operations at their packaging production facility in Tampa. This role is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing activities, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring product quality and safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in packaging production, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of manufacturing operations including production planning, workforce management, equipment maintenance, and process optimization.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO, GMP, and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Monitor and improve KPIs related to productivity, waste reduction, downtime, and throughput.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
- Lead and develop production teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and performance.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee inventory control, raw material usage, and production scheduling.
- Support new product introductions and process changes in coordination with R&D and technical teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in the packaging industry (flexible, rigid, paperboard, or corrugated).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and automation in packaging.
- Proven leadership and team development skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent.
- Experience with high-speed packaging lines or converting equipment.
- Familiarity with sustainability initiatives in packaging.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
