Planning Manager

We're supporting a Chemical Manufacturing leader in their search for a Planning Manager to join a dynamic environment where your leadership in planning and operations will directly impact production efficiency, customer satisfaction, and inventory performance. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong background in supply chain planning and team management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning team in developing short- and long-term production schedules that align with customer demand, delivery timelines, and inventory goals.
  • Create and maintain a monthly master schedule to optimize production flow and minimize testing overlaps.
  • Fine-tune ERP/MRP parameters to support evolving planning strategies and ensure system accuracy.
  • Drive inventory optimization by analyzing trends and implementing corrective actions to meet targets across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders-sales, product management, customer service-to align forecasts with production capabilities.
  • Support operations in assessing and planning for current and future capacity needs.
  • Facilitate Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, including preparation and presentation of key metrics and plans.
  • Manage the planning department, including setting goals, mentoring staff, and overseeing performance reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently and deliver results under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across departments.
  • Experience in demand forecasting and capacity planning.

  • APICS certification
  • Project management expertise and familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strategic planning and implementation capabilities
