Purchasing Director
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals and industry standards.
- Source and negotiate contracts for raw materials, packaging, and other essential supplies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supply chain risks to optimize purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to meet product specifications and timelines.
- Manage purchasing budgets, forecasts, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sustainability practices, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Lead and mentor the purchasing team to achieve operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 7-10 years of purchasing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in the food and beverage industry, preferably in flavoring or ingredients.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of global sourcing and import/export regulations.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and cost optimization strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
