Quality and Hygiene Manager

A leading manufacturer in the consumer goods sector is seeking a Quality & Hygiene Manager to lead food safety, quality systems, and hygiene programs within a manufacturing environment. This role will focus heavily on the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of GMP and HACCP programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of GMP, HACCP, and hygiene programs across the site
  • Drive food safety and quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality systems, procedures, and documentation
  • Partner closely with operations to embed quality and hygiene practices into daily production activities
  • Conduct risk assessments, investigations, and corrective actions related to quality or food safety issues
  • Monitor key quality and hygiene performance metrics; analyze trends and drive continuous improvement actions
  • Oversee environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, and hygienic practices to minimize contamination risks
  • Lead internal audits and support external audits (regulatory, customer, and third-party)
  • Train and develop site teams on GMP, HACCP, and hygiene best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and supply chain to ensure quality standards are met

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in quality/food safety within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with GMP and HACCP implementation (not just maintenance)
  • Background in the food industry is preferred
  • Experience with audits, regulatory compliance, and food safety systems
  • Strong ability to influence and drive change across cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with environmental monitoring or hygiene-focused programs
  • Exposure to GFSI standards (SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000, etc.)
  • Experience leading training or building site-level quality culture
